TOUR NEWS: Eskimo Joe, Regurgitator

Announced today, Eskimo Joe will play Wollongong Unibar in September. Adding to what will be a busy month of gigs in the Illawarra – with Josh Pyke, The Vines, Calling All Cars, Sparkadia and Birds of Tokyo all in town during September – Eskimo Joe will play Wollongong September 21st as part of a national tour to support their fifth album, the upcoming ‘Ghosts of the Past.’ Their last gig at the uni was a packed show in the Unihall, so it will be a treat to see the band in the intimate setting of the Unibar.

Tickets will be available through BigTix, OzTix, Redback Music or at the Unishop from July 18th. For more info, see the Facebook event page.

In addition, Sydney Girls Choir have been announced as the local supports for Regurgitator‘s upcoming gig at the Unibar. After winning through to the final of the national uni band comp last year, and ultimately placing second, the Wollongong-based four piece will open the August 12 show. Disasteradio (NZ) will also feature on the lineup for Regurgitators’ “Annual Sail Tour,” celebrating the release of the ‘Gurg’s latest album, ‘SUPERHAPPYFUNTIMESFRIENDS.’ Tickets are still available, through the usual outlets.

TOUR NEWS: Pnau, No Use For A Name, Regurgitator

A few big-name acts announced this week that they would be visiting Wollongong in the near future.

Playing on the mammoth Splendour In The Grass festival, Sydney duo Pnau will head out on a run of east coast dates, after returning from recording their album in London. Towradgi’s Waves Nightclub will host the boys on the 28th of July. Tickets are on sale now.

No Use For A Name also announced a visit to the Illawarra, with the Californian punk band set to play the Unibar – also on July 28th! (looks like that’ll be a good night for music in the ‘Gong) More details on that as they come to light.

Finally, long-time Aussie favourites, Regurgitator will be back ’round these parts soon. These guys seem to play the Unibar at least once a year, and this time will be no different; they’ll hit the Uni on August 12, with support from New Zealand’s Disasteradio.
