TOUR NEWS: Hunting Grounds, Yacht Club DJs

Wollongong will soon host perhaps the strangest Aussie double header tour of the year, with Yacht Club DJs teaming up with Hunting Grounds (formerly Howl) for a run of East Coast dates in March and April.

The two Ballarat-based bands will hit the Unibar on April 19th. Mashup masters Yacht Club DJs have been steadily building a name for themselves with their raucous, high-energy live shows at the nation’s biggest festivals from Splendour In The Grass to Field Day; akin to Girl Talk in their willingness to throw pop, metal and electro into the same mix, their mashups of classic tracks with more contemporary numbers makes them some of the country’s most entertaining DJs.

Hunting Grounds, on the other hand, will bring their rock/punk hybrid sounds to the table. Gaining fame as winners of Triple J’s Unearthed High under their previous name Howl, the six-piece have been somewhat quiet lately due to preparations for their debut album; but will be reminding fans of why they pricked the ears of our national youth broadcaster on this tour.

Tickets are on sale now; $15 for UOW students, $20 general admission. Click here to buy.
