TOUR NEWS: Sneaky Sound System; Ball Park Music

Wollongong Unibar have announced a pair of big gigs to kick off the new university year in style.

The UOW Garden Party is one of the biggest nights in Wollongong for students and non-students alike, and the 2012 party is set to be one of the biggest in years with the announcement that Sneaky Sound System will be headlining the annual event. The Unibar has promised that more bands will join the March 8 party, so keep an eye on the Garden Party Facebook event for more info.

As well, Triple J favourites Ball Park Music will drop into the Unibar later in March as part of their ‘180 Degree’ tour. The band, who proved popular with locals at their last gig in Wollongong – supporting Boy & Bear at the Unibar; read our review here –  Ball Park Music will return in a headlining role this time, playing the Unibar on March 29.

BPM will be supported by two bands who have already announced upcoming local gigs, in Sydney post-punk outfit Nantes (playing the Unibar’s O-Party in February) and Brisbane band Cub Scouts (playing Yours & Owls with Pluto Jonze).

As mentioned above, these two gigs join an already big roster of upcoming gigs at the Unibar. The annual O-Party featuring Nantes, Millions and Northeast Party House on February 23rd is sure to be a big hit with students, while local legends Tumbleweed make their return at the Unibar in late March.
