TOUR NEWS: Holly Throsby; Pluto Jonze + Cub Scouts

After spending much of 2011 occupied with Seeker Lover Keeper and the ‘They Will Have Their Way’ concert tributes to the Finn brothers, Holly Throsby will once again step out on her own, in her first headline tour in over a year.

Throsby will be accompanied by her band The Hello Tigers, for an extensive run of dates down the East Coast, including a local(-ish), all ages date at Coalcliff Community Centre.

“This is our first headline tour in a year, and we plan on playing songs from all the various albums, in whichever order we deem appropriate,” Throsby concludes.

Pluto Jonze and Cub Scouts will team up for the ‘Hurricane Evie’ tour next month, with Yours & Owls on the tour schedule.

Pluto Jonze has recently racked up support slots for The Jezabels, WU LYF, Guineafowl and Dappled Cities, and is riding high on the big love he’s been getting for his excellent, rollicking, synth-infused rock track ‘Plastic Bag In A Hurricane’ (listen below).

Cub Scouts also have something to crow about, as they will be opening the Brisbane leg of the Laneway Festival on January 28. Their latest track, ‘Evie,’ should also be familiar to any regular Triple J listeners; a twinkling indie-pop gem, it’s been on high rotation recently and currently sits at #4 on the Unearthed charts.

The two up-and-comers will take turns at headlining each show, with Pluto Jonze to play last in Wollongong. Tickets are $12 presale, $15 on the door.
