“FACE/OFF” music nights announced

Seems live music is making a comeback in the pubs and clubs of Wollongong; first the Patch took on a new music focus, then the Brewery unveiled its Home Brew’d comp and even Hostage is doing the occasional show. Now, everyone’s favourite late-night hangout, FEVER, is jumping on the bandwagon with its newly announced FACE/OFF band nights.

To be held each Thursday from 9pm, organisers have said that “the concept is to get musical acts together and have a bit of fun with each other. While they do “verse” each other it’s not really a competition.”

Three acts take the stage to perform, before the winner is decided by crowd reaction. Winners take home a cash bonus as decided by you – the public! Entry is free all night.

The weekly event is open to all bands, but all members must be over 18 (rumours that this was brought in just to stop Tommy M & The Mastersounds winning every week are unconfirmed). Bands are encouraged to email tomanddave@hotmail.com to register their interest.

FACE/OFF kicks off this week, with Dave Morris, Justin Frew and Mitchell Dremich performing. See the Facebook event profile for more info.
