The Patch to host more live music, more local bands, introduce DJs

After relaunching itself as a live music venue late last year, The Patch (The Cabbage Tree Hotel) will increase the number of live music events it hosts.

Music Farmers and Impedance will oversee the changes to the venue, which will include hosting live music every Friday and Saturday night, opening the front bar as a performance space for local music, and – with new extended opening hours – introducing local DJs to play after the bands finish.

“The venue will now operate live music in both bars on Friday and Saturday nights with DJ’s to follow live music on both nights until 3am,” Music Farmers stated in a press release this morning.

“Front bar shows will be free entry and focused on local artists. The sets will be scheduled between the playing times in the back room to help establish a new audience for these emerging artists.”

A series of DJs, curated by Music Farmers, will take the stage after bands finish, with Music Farmers promising “a number of special guests” are to hit the decks.

The first weekend of October will see the new format officially launch (see details below).

Locals are encouraged to contact Impedance (for band bookings – mail@impedancerecords.com) and Music Farmers (for DJ bookings – mail@musicfarmers.com) to register interest in being part of this new relaunch for the venue. See The Patch’s new website for more info.
