Lumiere announce return

After a long absence and hiatus, Wollongong favourites Lumiere have released details of their long-awaited return to the local music scene.

The five-piece – who took out the Mercury Bluescope band comp in 2008 – have booked two shows in coming weeks, and have announced that they will soon begin work on a new EP.

Lumiere will play their first local show back at the Heritage Hotel on September 16 with Yardvark and Ye Luddites; the band will join a stellar lineup of prog and alternative rock at The Patch on September 24 with sleepmakeswaves, Pirate, Reactionary and Basil’s Kite.

Drummer Joel van Gastel told Radar that the band are also “in the developing stages of a new EP,” which is to be the band’s second release after album ‘The Dreamscape.’

Get reacquainted with some of Wollongong’s finest musicians at their first local gigs in ages, and stay tuned for more news of their upcoming EP!
