TOUR NEWS: Cold Chisel, You Am I

We’re on a bit of a nostalgia trip this week at Radar; first we broke the news on the way retro Rewind Festival lineup, and now Aussie rock icons Cold Chisel have announced a massive new tour that will stop off in Wollongong in November.

The ‘Light The Nitro‘ tour will be Cold Chisel’s biggest tour in over 30 years, taking in 26 dates – and some of the country’s biggest venues – between October and December. Starting in Newcastle, and taking a skewed route around the country to visit all capital cities as well as a number of regional centres between, it will be the band’s first tour since the death of drummer Steve Prestwich in January. To fill the gap, Charley Drayton (of B52’s and Divinyls fame) will man the kit for the mammoth tour.

Cold Chisel will play the WIN Entertainment Centre on November 13th, with You Am I in support.

The band have promised that the tour will draw heavily from old material, vowing that their setlists will contain “twenty or more classic tunes.”

Tickets are on sale August 4th, and will set you back $99.90. One-fifth of proceeds from ticket sales will go to Prestwich’s family and children.
