‘ROCK THE VOTE WOLLONGONG’ HEADLINERS ANNOUNCED

Local political action campaign, Rock The Vote Wollongong, have finally announced the headliners for their eagerly anticipated event.
Melbourne’s Ezekiel Ox & The Fury will headline the event, to be held September 2nd – the night before Wollongong’s local council elections – at Dicey Riley’s.
This will be the band’s first time playing in Wollongong, but they are no strangers to the region. Ezekiel Ox has played in seminal Australian bands including Mammal and Full Scale, and of course, now fronts Over-Reactor. Ox’s current band will be well-known to local audiences, after most recently playing alongside Karnivool on their latest tour, as well as having famously written and recorded a track in a single day at Main Street Studios, after having their local gig cancelled at the last minute (see the video for ‘The Energy’ here).
The band is rounded out by drummer Lucius Borich, a name familiar to anyone with even a vague inkling of modern Australian rock; Borich previously had played in Cog, as well as being the son of famed Aussie muso Kevin Borich.
Rock The Vote’s event will be held September 2nd at Dicey Riley’s. Each attendee will receive a free copy of the Rock The Vote Wollongong compilation CD, featuring tracks from many local acts. The final tracklisting for the CD is still being finalised, but RTV have promised “some surprising collaborative efforts” will be included; more news on the CD to come soon.

Stay tuned to Radar for more news on the CD, as well as soon-to-be-announced support acts for the gig, in coming weeks!
